United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men of Epworth Church

United Methodist Men is an organization whose primary purpose is to help the members know God, grow spiritually, and seek God’s will daily. Members are encouraged to participate in the total life of the church and to declare the centrality of Christ in their lives and in all their relationships.

The United Methodist Men, or UMM,  members often volunteer to provide some of the maintenance and upkeep for our facilities and grounds.

A breakfast is offered every Friday at 7:00 AM for any men who wish to attend.  After a complete home-cooked breakfast the group shares a time of thought provocation around current issues, concerns, or opportunities of Christian living.  The breakfast is open to all men and gathers in the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen on the main level of the church building.  A free-will offering is accepted and used to defray meal expenses and to add to the UMM funds for maintenance, supplies and mission.  Many of the “Friday Guys” also volunteer with lawn care, building maintenance, or “honey-do” items for groups or staff of the congregation.

General UMM meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 7:00 a.m. at the Church. The meetings always begin with a prepared breakfast, with a brief business updating session and program following. Usually the program is presented by a guest speaker and is on a wide range of subject matter. The president of this group is Andy Lindstrom.

The Epworth United Methodist Men sponsors  Boy Scout Troop #128 and a Venture Club.

A softball team is also sponsored by the UMM of Epworth that organizes each spring and seeks to include as many persons as possible who have a passion for sport and Christian fellowship.
